      The Day We Walked on the Moon

      The Health Museum will join the Smithsonian Channel and other Smithsonian Affiliate institutions across the country to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first humans landing on the Moon as part of NASA’s Apollo 11 lunar mission with the screening of the film “The Day We Walked on the Moon” on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at 3 p.m. The film screening will be followed by an exciting Health, Moon and Beyond panel featuring two former NASA astronauts and other experts from Baylor College of Medicine’s Translational Research Institute for Space Health (TRISH) and Center for Space Medicine.

      Guest Panelists:
      •Dr. David Hilmers, former NASA astronaut, physician, and professor in the internal medicine department at Baylor College of Medicine.
      •Dr. Robert Satcher, a former NASA astronaut and orthopedic oncologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
      •Dr. Dorit Donoviel, director of TRISH at Baylor College of Medicine.
      •Dr. Jeffery Sutton, director of the Center for Space Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine.

      Entrance to the film screening and panel will be included with the regular price of admission for The Health Museum. Additional screenings of the film will also be available:

      •Saturday, July 20, 2019, at 3:00 p.m.
      Followed by expert panel
      •Sunday, July 21, 2019, at 2:00 p.m.

      General admission to The Health Museum is free for children two and under; $8 for children 3 to 12 years old and seniors 65 and above; $10 for adults; and free on Thursdays for families. Active and retired personnel receive half-off admission for up to four people. General admission also provides access to the museum’s multiple exhibits.
